NewPower99's replacement Li ion battery works great in my Kindle DX. The package included all of the necessary tools to open the e-book reader, remove the battery and replace it with the new one. Especially helpful is the video on CD (also available on youtube) showing how to open the unit and replace the battery. Battery life is excellent. And further kudos for responsive service when I contacted NewPower via email with a question regarding the Kindle model - immediate and extremely helpful personal response. A great product executed with flawless customer service.

I couldn't get my DVD to start, so I used the video on your site (thanks). At first, I couldn't get the shim tool to work, but then I replayed that part of the video and studied it carefully and found the little clips, etc. Everything works just as stated!

Just a quick note to share my dad is just THRILLED to have his DX back on-line. Amazon wanted to sell him a replacement unit, probably a Fire, that's smaller and harder to read. The DX is no longer made. He's 90-years old and needs all the screen he can get. When I asked Amazon Customer Service about replacing just the battery, no response. NewPower99 to the rescue!

I took my time to open the Kindle, but once inside the battery replacement went smoothly. Instructional video was a huge plus!

Replaced the DX battery in a jiffy. Be careful of the audio volume down/up rocker - it may pop out while the cover is off. Look at it _before_ you remove the cover to see how it is oriented in case you need to replace it.

I have a Graphite DX - the OEM battery I removed is 1530mAh just like this replacement - so I'm not sure it will have "even more" uptime than the original (when the original was new).
